Ryan Cassata show

 Saturday,  May 30, 2015  7:30p.m.

All Ages   $10.00

RYAN CASSATA is a singer-songwriter & transgender motivational speaker who – all by age 21 – successfully cut 9 records, toured the United States nationally, performed at some of the world’s biggest Pride Festivals, won Bay Shore High School’s first-ever Harvey Milk Memorial Award, became the youngest keynote speaker for the largest transgender conference in existence, appeared on TV several times, wrote two movie soundtracks, and starred in and toured with internationally screening documentary “Songs For Alexis.”
The Long Island native, who is now based in San Francisco, can play many instruments but is most frequently seen performing foot-stomping folk rock with a vocal mic, a harmonica slung around his neck and his beloved Ovation guitar. As a one man show, Cassata never leaves an audience bored.

Brothers Reed CD Release Party

The Brothers Reed

April 11, 2015

7:00-9:30p.m.

All Ages

$7.00 cover

“With their debut album, The Brothers
Reed have created an absorbing collection of Americana about life, love, and the diversity of the human experience. From dark ballads and bluegrass numbers, to laid back alt-country and punk-infused indie pop, “Sick as Folk,” is a collection of well-crafted songs for fans of artists such as Simon and Garfunkel, Avett Brothers, and Beck.  Despite touching on numerous musical elements the album remains extremely cohesive, charming from the opening stanza with lush harmonies and bold instrumentation intended to soothe, captivate, and ultimately inspire it’s listeners.”

Guest Opener is Bryna Dean and Skyler Squglio of 100 Watt Mind

The Third Annual Beekeepers Ball

October 25th, 7pm

Tickets $22 Advance & $28 Door  21 & up

The Third Annual Beekeepers Ball is the autumn 2014 event not to miss!  Our theme this year is “Sweet as Honey,” and the night couldn’t get any sweeter with “The California Honeydrops” taking the stage!  The California Honeydrops don’t just play music—they throw parties. Drawing on diverse musical influences from Bay Area R&B, funk, Southern soul, Delta blues, and New Orleans second-line, the Honeydrops bring vibrant energy and infectious dance-party vibes to their live shows. They’ve taken the party all over the world: on their nine European tours, to featured slots at such premiere festivals as Monterey Jazz, High Sierra, and Outside Lands, and performances in 2013 supporting B.B. King, Dr. John, Buddy Guy, and Allen Toussaint. Whether in those high-profile performances or in more intimate venues where the band itself can leave the stage and get down on the dance floor, the California Honeydrops’ shared vision and purpose remain: to make the audience dance and sing.

Opening for The California Honeydrops is Southern Oregon’s own “Maestro & the Captain’s Flat 5 Flim Flam”… It’s a mouthful.. and an earful. File their music under “swing”, but it’s likely not the swing music that you’re accustomed to. The “Flat 5″ draws inspiration from 30s and 40s swing jazz, reefer tunes of early black club music and the gypsy swing era in France. The strong groovin’ bounce of their rhythm section provides a landscape for vocal harmonies and innovative improvisation. The Flat 5’s original modern acoustic swing tunes are clever, creative, and potently inviting to dance to.

The Beekeepers Ball is a fundraiser for the Bee Girl organization, a nonprofit with a world-wide presence on a mission to inspire and empower communities to conserve bees and their habitat.  This is an event for the whole community to celebrate honey, the work of our bees, and our beekeepers!  Funds raised will enable Bee Girl to continue to conserve our bees by educating the public on their importance through our programs focused on community classes and events, public lectures, our Kids and Bees program, and our University program. The Bee Girl organization also facilitates the Farming for Bees initiative, empowering and recognizing land managers who provide habitat for our bees. Bee Girl engages with communities across the nation, and the globe, spreading knowledge and bringing a sense of wonder from the hive to the people.

Aside from the amazing line up of musicians, we will be offering a honey-themed dinner featuring locally farmed food for purchase, a silent auction full of sweet items, a photo booth, and of course a costume contest!

For more information, visit the Beekeepers Ball page at beegirl.org

We are looking for sponsors, as well as silent auction donations!  Please send an email to sarah@beegirl.org to learn more about the benefits of sponsorship levels.
